Mansur Bayati (c 18th century) folk poet and singer, writer of Dewana Madina, a maimansingha gitika. chandra kumar de collected this gitika from Baniachang in habiganj. This poem is also known as Abang Dulal in Sylhet and Comilla. On the basis of the poet's use of Arabic and Persian words and the context of events, it is assumed that the poem was composed in the late 18th century. Mansur Bayati was a very powerful folk poet, and especially skillful in creating tragic stories. Dewana Madina was translated into English and included in dinesh chandra sen's Eastern Bengal Ballads.
